WHAT IS THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM:
The U10 development team is a graded team comprised of U10 aged players who would normally participate in a Rooball competition that are selected to compete in a designated U11 divisional competition against similar teams from other clubs.
WHY A DEVELOPMENT TEAM:
The provision of a development team provides players who have demonstrated a significant level of skill for their age-group to participate against players and teams who possess similar capabilities.
WHO CAN TRY OUT:
All players who are turning 10 years old in 2008 who would normally be playing Rooball are eligible to try out for the development team. Players and parents should be aware that the development team will be participating in a competitive environment and players will be selected on merit.
CAN PLAYERS DEVELOP IN ROOBALL:
Players of all abilities have the opportunity to continue to develop their skills and knowledge of the game within the Rooball environment. Rooball continues to provide excellent development opportunities for all skill levels, particularly through the participation in carnivals.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS NOT SELECTED:
Players who are not selected for the U10 development team will play U10 Rooball or alternatively they also have the option to be allocated to an appropriate U11 side (subject to Director of Coaching approval). The outcomes of the U10 development team in no way influence future team selection in subsequent years.
