President’s Welsome Message

Welcome to Loganholme F C (formally Loganholme Soccer Club).  We have been established in the Logan area since 1979 and in 2008 we celebrated our 30th anniversary. We provide a positive and friendly environment for players of all ages to enjoy their football.  We offer programs from tiny-tots (3-5 year olds) all the way through to the Metropolitan men’s competition as well as women’s and girl’s teams.  If you are looking for the right environment to enjoy the sport we all love then come to Loganholme – we will make you feel welcome!

Season 2009 was the most successful in our 30+ year history.  We achieved record sign-on numbers (820 players) ranking us as the largest club in Logan City and one of the largest clubs in the Football Brisbane association. Our developing senior program was a great success – our Metro 5 won the grand-final; Metro 1 reserves made the semi-finals and our Metro 1 side finished 5th.  Our Youth (div 1) made the grand-final and earned promotion into Premier Youth in 2010 and our Youth (div 3) side finished 5th with our women’s team having a great season finishing in 6th place.

We also continued to show why we are regarded as one of the strongest junior clubs in Brisbane. We secured 5 junior premierships; had 14 of our 20 divisional make the semi-finals; 4 teams made it all the way to the grand-final and 3 grand-final winners.  These results ranked Loganholme as the most successful club in the Football Brisbane association in terms of junior team achievements.  What another great year for Loganholme.

Loganholme is in a cycle of significant development and it is our aim to provide some of the best facilities available to our members.  In 2008 we completed our $190,000 change-room project for the top field and installed new state-of-the-art dug-outs.  In the 2009 off-season we will be undertaking a significant field maintenance program which will build on the hard work of previous year to ensure the fields are amongst the best in the local area.  We are also in the early stages of a project which will see a $120,000 change-room facility for the main field completed by early 2010 as well as a proposed redevelopment of our canteen.

The 2009 season was capped off when the club won the ‘Sports Organisation of the Year” and ‘Sports Event of the Year’ at the prestigious Logan Coity Sports Awards.  This was a great achievement for Loganholme and was recognition of years of hard work which ahs established the club as one of the preeminent sporting clubs in Logan City.

I would like to welcome the new management committee for 2010 and I encourage the general membership to support them by assisting in any capacity you can throughout the coming season.

Here’s to another great season and another fantastic chapter in the history of our club.

I wish everyone good luck and enjoy your games.
