Lightning hosted the Brisbane Strikers in the top of the table battle and those who stayed to watch were not disappointed with a cracking game in the balance right to the final whistle (9 minutes into injury time if you please) Logan started strongly and created several chances before Matty Hanlon ran onto a sweet ball from midfield to calmly round the keeper and put us one up. Some sloppy marking saw strikers level and against the run of play they broke to score a second and take a 2 - 1 lead into the break. Some reshuffling of the back four and a commitment to throw players forward saw logan dominate the second half.Chances went begging as we hit the post then the crossbar and the ball cleared off the line on more than one occasion .With the strikers looking shaky on thier left hand side logan took advatage and began to shift the ball left on every occasion. With 9 minutes to go a foul on that side saw Blake Greenwood thunder a shot into the penalty area to see both our strikers lunge but fail to get a touch but that was enough to put the keeper off and the ball snuck inside the right hand post. Two minutes later Nihad Fatic logans best on the night slotted home the winner with a deft touch from a corner. The home team then had to endure 9 min of added time which saw logan keeper cameron Gibbons pull off an outstanding save in the dying stages to keep all the points.Crouchy Burfield squandered a great one on one chance in the final seconds but the win was complete.Best for logan Nihad Fatic,Joel Lacey Micheal Andrews and Kyrin Downs with a pleasant return to form from Matty Hanlon.
